How We Work

Richard at Honda F1 with John Button
When a business finds itself in troubled waters, there is ultimately a single person responsible for seeing it safely through to calmer seas – the CEO.
It may be a small or large-scale change that is required. Suppliers, your market place, internal processes or indeed individuals in your organisation may be causing the need for this change. It might even be a small part of each.
Perhaps it’s more product related or R & D. It could be more sales and distribution or just simply that costs have got out of control and can’t be sustained by existing operations.
Whatever the problem, be it just choppy water or a tsunami, the CEO has to find a way forward. But who is there to help them? Perhaps the shareholders are unaware of the situation and it is hoped a solution can be found without the problem becoming common knowledge.
Can the CEO fully rely on his co-directors or senior managers? Are they feeding back correct information from which he can make decisions. Are they using politics or simply covering their own backs?
We are here to help you, the CEO. This is how we can work together.

Step 1.
The starting point is very simple but often it is a step that is never taken.
Recognise that your business has problems that need solving and that there are independent troubleshooters who have experience, who aren’t emotionally connected or involved in company politics who can share their experienced and un-biased judgement and opinions to help you.
Step 2.
Pick up the phone and have an “off the record” and confidential chat. Both parties can evaluate if there is merit in moving to the next step.
Step 3
Invite us in for a single day. Give us a concise overview of the business including a brief history and future vision. Tell us more about your current problems and your thoughts on possible solutions. Show us around your key operations and/or specific trouble areas.
Let us provide you with our “from the hip” thoughts and tell you where we think we can be of assistance.
You decide if you are comfortable with our “up front, tell it how it is” approach.
Step 4.
Formalise a brief and agree the required level of involvement and timescales.
NB. The timescale to get from step 2 through to step 4 can be within 48 hours.
